TVA Generation Partners (GP) and Solar Solutions Initiative: TVA pays customers a premium for their solar production (GP also pays $1000 upon system completion). Under GP, customers receive the GSA1 rate plus 12 cents per kWh for all solar electric production. In Middle TN, we expect production of approximately 1250 kWh a year for each kW of installed capacity. For example, a 25 kW system generates about 30,000 kWh/year. Therefore, the utility pays you $6,875/year at a GSA1 rate of 10 cents. The GP 12 cent premium is limited to systems under 50 kW. Over 50 kW requires participation under the Solar Solutions Initiative. Please contact us or visit the TVA website for the latest developments:
Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation (TDEC) Clean Tennessee Energy Grant program: The purpose of the grant program is to fund projects that best result in a reduction of emissions and pollutants. The Clean Tennessee Energy Program provides financial assistance to state and local government agencies, utility districts, and private businesses and organizations in Tennessee to purchase, install, and construct energy projects that fit into one of the following eligible project categories:
1. Cleaner Alternative Energy: biomass, geothermal, solar, wind
2. Energy Conservation: Lighting, HVAC improvements, improved fuel efficiency, insulation, idling minimization
3. Air Quality Improvement:GHG, SO2, VOC’s, NOx, HAP’s
