After installing a solar system, you are still billed for your use. However, the kilowatt-hours from your solar system are measured under TVA's GP program and subtracted from what you would have been billed along with any previous credits from the months before. The end result is little or no bill with a properly sized system. And if after 12 months, you have a credit, the utility will send you a check!
